How we plan to shape a better world

The systems we adopt shape us — what we notice, how we think, and what we end up doing. That happens whether anybody intended it or not, so the only question worth asking is who the shaping serves. We build systems that answer to the people inside them.

  • Mangrove

    A place to build the things a group needs and share them — a household budget, a shared list of chores, everything a company runs on. They run on the computers the group already owns.

    An app needs somewhere to keep information, something to do the work, and a way to reach people. All three have meant somebody else's computers, which is why anything worth sharing has had to be rented. Mangrove spreads all three across the machines a group already has, so what people build together stays theirs.
